The following glossary explains the terminology used in the BSS.
| Term | Definition |

| Label | Label with one open and optionally one closed code. Unchangeable, cannot be edited or deleted. |
| Scan | A scanning sequence performed by the end user with the app. |
| Batch | A batch is a quantity of labels. This is the smallest manageable unit and unchangeable. Can only be blocked. |
| Container | A container can hold both batches and sub-containers. |
| Scan page | Each container is assigned a variety of scan pages per information type and language. It contains the information to be displayed to the user during scanning. |
| Information type | Specifies the type of scanning result: open code, closed code, container disabled, product counterfeit. |
| Analytic scan | An analytic scan is created on the basis of an actual scan. However, it primarily contains the analyzed data of a scan. |
