Quickstart
Brand Secure System offers a simple interface to secure your products. In this Quickstart guide, you will learn the essential steps for first-time use of BSS. You will learn the following:
- Account setup
- Ordering batches
- Setting up a scan page
- Demonstrative scanning of a label
- Evaluating collected data
If you are a developer and want to dive directly into the BSS API, the API Reference and the API Keys section are good starting points.
Please note that in order to use BSS, you must first contact our sales team. BSS is a purely B2B product and can only be acquired through sales. They will discuss all necessary steps with you to gain access to BSS.
Account setup
Once you have been approved by support, you can log in to the Brand Secure System Portal using the credentials provided by support.
After logging in, you can manage your company details, such as the company name, and invite additional employees.
For more information and help, please refer to the Company Management chapter.
Ordering a test batch
Typically, a test batch is provided by the support team when your company is set up. If you did not receive this test batch or if it is missing for any other reason, please contact your contact person. Also, reach out to them if you wish to order additional batches.
Setting up a scan page
To set up a scan page, follow these steps:
- Go to Container Management.
- Create a
Test
container under theRoot
container. - In the shopping cart, a sample batch should already be available. Simply drag and drop this sample batch into the
Test
container. This assigns the sample batch to theTest
container. - Now, add a scan page. To do this, click on the appropriate option to create a new scan page.
For more information, please refer to the Container Management chapter.
Scanning a label
After setting up a scan page and assigning a corresponding batch to it, we can now access the scan page. Open the publicly available Verify My Product App. Here, you can enter a BSS code from a label using a QR code or manual code entry. A BSS code can be recognized by its structure, as it always starts with an "&". More details can be found in the BSS Code chapter.
Depending on whether you scanned an open or closed code, you will be redirected to the corresponding scan page you created.
For more information, please refer to the Scanning and Verify App chapters.
Evaluating collected data
After scanning, you can view the collected data. Go to the Analytics page of the portal to get an overview of the scan activities.
For more information, please refer to the Usage Analysis chapter.
